God and love

Does God love me because of who He is or because of who I am?

At first sight, does it matter? God loves me, is this not enough? It turns out not to be. If God loves me because of who He is (love) then what I am doesn't matter, God will love me anyway. It's automatic. I'm not involved.

However, if God loves me for who I am as an individual then He must see the good in me and the potential of His creation and that gives me hope. As a person there must be something about me that's lovable.

Automated love vs personal love. The bible shows a God that gets involved with His creation on a personal level, caring about their individual issues not just general ones. This makes me want to believe the latter.

Woop woop

After 3 1/2 months I will (admittedly, only for 5 weeks) have a full compliment of housemates!

Copyright

If you reproduce anyone's work that is copyrighted you legally have to display the copyright line. I spend hours trawling the web looking for these lines for songs that we project at church because the vast majority of sites have the lyrics but not the copyright. IT IS SO FRUSTRATING.

DIY tips #4

In order to paint a fence the wood needs to be cleaned with warm, soapy water and a stiff brush. It is advisable to wear gloves during the procedure to avoid large splinters entering your thumb.

DIY tips #3

Don't do electrics yourself, it's illegal. When you do get an electrician in, always arrange for it to be when you're all at work; it's amazing how many things you will want to do require electricity.

DIY tips #1&2

1) When attempting to screw hooks into doors always drill a pilot hole first. Failure to do so will result in a blister on your screwdriving hand by the third hook.

2) When fitting a new boiler ensure that it is wired onto it's own circuit and not the ring main. Subsequent owners of your house will greatly appreciate this.
