God and love
Does God love me because of who He is or because of who I am?
At first sight, does it matter? God loves me, is this not enough? It turns out not to be. If God loves me because of who He is (love) then what I am doesn't matter, God will love me anyway. It's automatic. I'm not involved.
However, if God loves me for who I am as an individual then He must see the good in me and the potential of His creation and that gives me hope. As a person there must be something about me that's lovable.
Automated love vs personal love. The bible shows a God that gets involved with His creation on a personal level, caring about their individual issues not just general ones. This makes me want to believe the latter.
